With the opening of Estudio Iberico, office workers in Admiralty and Central can now enjoy a range of quick-to-order Spanish tapas dishes for lunch and dinner.

The casual and cheerful tapas bar, which is just three minutes from the Admiralty MTR station, is the brainchild of local investors who are passionate about Spanish cuisine, and who wanted to present authentic tapas in Hong Kong.

Estudio Iberico offers about 30 tapas dishes and a large selection of beverages. Customers can order tapas at the counter or buy items off the shelf.

Signature dishes include carrillada, which consists of Iberico pork cheeks stewed with Oloroso sweet sherry and almonds (HK$88); croquetas, deep fried croquettes of 5J Iberico ham in soft bechamel (HK$60 for 4 pieces); cecina, which is carpaccio of smoked cured beef leg served with manchego cheese and olive oil (HK$70); and Galician style Pulpo a la Gallega, made of thin slices of Spanish octopus on potato slices with pimenton powder and extra virgin olive oil (HK$65).

And of course there is the popular Sangria, a red wine cocktail with juices, brandy and liqueurs (HK$40).

As for off-the-shelf items, the Estudio Spanish lunch box serves a different menu every day, and is priced between HK$55 and HK$65. A sample menu includes Macarrones con Chorizo (penne pasta with chorizo and spicy tomato sauce) and Arroz de Marisco (seafood rice).

5J Iberico ham (Jabugo) is available at HK$330 per 100 grams, while a pack of Noel Extra Chorizo mild, or spicy, costs HK$89.

The tapas bar seats 12, and is open from 11am to 10pm daily.
